Hello, I’m Dee-Jay! I started my sisterlocks journey in March of 2019. Three months into my journey, I was notified of my deployment with the military. With no prior experience with locks or sisterlocks, I had to figure out how to retighten my hair. Well, I definitely had trials and tribulations, but for the most part, I figured it out. I maintained my Sisterlocks by self-retightening for a year. I was exhausted when I returned home, but I learned so much by maintaining my hair that I wanted to help others. I completed my Sisterlocks training in June of 2019, then joined the Stylist Excel mentorship program by Master Trainer Roselee Mathu. After completing my mentorship, I became a full-time sisterlocks consultant. Continuing my education, I joined All Tangled Up ™ Establishment Bootcamp. Here my skills were fine-tuned with the help of Brand Ambassador/Certified SisterLocks Consultant Shawn McWhriter. I learned how to complete the perfect grid and get it done right the first time with no do-overs. I now enjoy freeing women of all ages from covering up their natural hair.
